Bilingual Day School

KiTs is a private Day School recognised by the Education Department of Canton of St. Gallen. The school offers individual and holistic support complemented by empathy and know-how to mainstream and highly gifted children.

The academic instruction includes Canton St. Gallen’s state curriculum Lehrplan 21 and guarantees a smooth transfer to the public school system or shift to secondary schools.

Gifted and Talented Education

There is an exciting selection of education programmes for gifted and talented
students. These programmes take place twice weekly. Children and teens learn and develop their personal talents through goal-oriented exploration and experimentation. A team of internal and external specialists lead these small groups.

Upper School (3rd Cycle)

The focus is planning for the future, on personality development and finding an individual path. The school provides intensive preparation of students for various entrance exams to secondary schools. We accompany the application process all the way to the professional world.

Middle School (2nd Cycle)

The individual development of emotional and social skills is an essential part of our concept. "Learning to learn," means discovering one's own cognitive learning strategies. We attach great importance to focusing on the joy of successful learning.

Lower School (1st cycle)

Learning creatively, playfully and discovering at their own pace enables the children to experience new successes every day. In mixed-age groups, the children learn with and from each other and gain valuable experience. Bilingualism is already practised at this level.

School Concept

A stress-free environment, bilingualism, specialised support for giftedness, holistic learning and living

Instruction

Our goal-oriented instruction in small classes takes into account different talents, the stages of development and the learning speed of children and teens. Curiosity and the natural joy of learning are awakened, and self-confidence is strengthened through experienced success. We attach great importance to a respectful learning culture in which the indiviudal social and methodological competencies are consciously promoted in addition to the conventional subject competences. There is a personal learning coach who supports the individual development of each child and every teen at regular intervals.

Day Structure

At school, we link lessons with leisure time, allowing education to become holistic and relevant to the child’s day to day life. Supervised lunch and after -school hours are additional opportunities to develop social skills. The day school structure is also intended to provide relief for working parents. By arrangement, students enrolled in other schools can also be looked after.

Clarifications

Upon request, our consulting team can carry out assessments and potential analyses so that teachers can maximise support of students based on individual strengths. The school offers further psychological clarifications such as learning type inclinations.
